For neighbors

Ask without shame. Offer without pressure.

Some seasons you could use a hand. Other seasons you have one to give. Here, both are ordinary.

Individuals never pay.

Two paths. One choice.

SmuhThe everyday you, closedI doubt you.
  • Closed. Suspicious. Defensive.
HumThe everyday you, openI see you.
  • Open. Kind. Willing.

What it is like here

Asking is ordinary here.

Ask by nickname Post what would help under a nickname. Your community sees the need, and you keep your privacy.
Your address stays yours People see your general area. Your exact address is shared once you accept someone's offer.
Offer when it fits An hour, a seat in your car, a pot of soup. Offer it when your life has room.
Free, for good Individuals never pay. Asking, offering and being matched cost nothing.
Roles move Ask in one season and offer in the next. Everyone here is both.
Showing up counts Care you complete becomes part of a record. Standing is earned by showing up.
Your neighbors are closer than you think.Find your community

Getting started

Three small steps.

1

Find your community

Look through the communities near you: a neighborhood group, a nonprofit, a congregation, a school.

2

Say hello

Sign in with a one-time code and ask to join. A person at that community welcomes you in.

3

Ask, offer, show up

Post what would help, or answer someone else. That is all there is to it.

Questions people ask

What does it cost me?

Nothing. Individuals never pay on CooperationEngine. Organizations carry the cost.

Will my hard season be on display?

You ask by nickname, and people see a general area. Your exact address is shared once you accept an offer of help.

What if my community is still to come?

Share CooperationEngine with a group you already belong to, and leave us your name. We will write when there is news worth your time.

Do I have to offer something to be able to ask?

Asking stands by itself. Many people ask in one season and offer in another, and both are welcome any time.

The kitchen table, made bigger

Pull up a chair.

A long table with many seats taken, each with a glowing heart, and one open seat for you.

There is a seat for you.
